Possible Causes
Stuck flow switch, Failed flow sensor, Air in system preventing flow, Blocked strainers or filters
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power and allow the system to cool before opening any water components.
- Check system pressure: Ensure the boiler pressure is within the normal range. Very low pressure can prevent flow.
- Bleed air: Use air vents on the Crown boiler and radiators to remove trapped air that can stop circulation.
- Inspect flow switch/sensor: Locate the flow switch or sensor on the boiler's hydraulic block. Check wiring and connectors for damage.
- Clean strainers: If your system has Y-strainers or inlet filters near the boiler, isolate and clean them to restore flow.
- Reset: Restore power and reset the boiler. If E16 remains, the flow sensor/switch may need replacement.
