Possible Causes

Tripped circuit breaker or blown fuse, Faulty mains switch or spur, Loose mains wiring at boiler, Failed main PCB power supply

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Only qualified persons should work on mains electrical circuits. Always isolate before removing covers.

  • Check external power: Verify that the boiler's fused spur or circuit breaker is switched on and that the fuse has not blown.
  • Test socket/spur: Plug in another appliance to confirm the supply is live.
  • Inspect boiler terminals (technician): Remove the front cover and check that live, neutral, and earth are correctly connected and tight at the CTC boiler terminal block.
  • Check internal fuses: Test and replace any blown internal fuses with the correct rating.
  • Replace PCB (technician): If supply and fuses are OK but the boiler remains dead, the main PCB power section may have failed and require replacement.
