Possible Causes
Leaking pump gland, corroded primary heat exchanger, leaking automatic air vent, leaking compression joints inside boiler
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Isolate electrical power immediately if water is leaking near electrical components. Close the system isolation valves if possible.
- Locate source: Remove the front panel and use a torch to trace the leak to its highest visible point. Check the circulation pump, automatic air vent, and visible pipe joints.
- Check pressure: Note the system pressure. If it drops rapidly, do not continue to run the boiler.
- Tighten joints: If a compression joint is slightly weeping, gently tighten by a small amount. Do not overtighten.
- Technician tasks: Replace leaking components such as the pump, air vent, or primary heat exchanger. If water has contacted the PCB, it may also need replacement.
