Boiler shows A14, pressure gauge high, safety valve may drip

Safety: Hot water discharge from the safety valve can cause burns. Allow system to cool before relieving pressure.

• Check filling loop: Ensure the filling loop valves are fully closed and the flexible hose is removed if required by local regulations.
• Reduce pressure: Bleed water from a radiator or drain point until the pressure gauge returns to around 1.2 bar when cold.
• Monitor pressure: If pressure rises rapidly again during heating, the expansion vessel may have lost charge or failed.
• Technician tasks: A heating engineer should check and recharge or replace the expansion vessel and verify the pressure relief valve operation.
