Possible Causes
Failed Defro flue fan motor, Blocked fan impeller or flue collector, Faulty fan speed sensor (Hall sensor) on Defro fan assembly, Loose fan connector on Defro control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Isolate power before working near the fan or flue components.
- Access the fan: Remove the front cover and locate the flue fan at the top of the combustion chamber on the Defro boiler.
- Check wiring: Ensure the multi-pin connector to the fan is fully seated and that no pins are bent or corroded.
- Inspect for obstruction: Look into the fan housing and flue collector for debris, broken baffles, or signs of water ingress. Do not insert fingers into the fan blades; use a torch and mirror if needed.
- Spin test: With power off, gently rotate the fan impeller by hand. It should turn freely without grinding. If seized or very stiff, the fan assembly must be replaced.
- Reset and test: Restore power and reset the boiler. If E07 persists, a technician should measure fan supply voltage and speed feedback to confirm a faulty Defro fan unit.
