Possible Causes
Faulty fan motor, Blocked flue or condensate trap, Faulty air pressure switch, Split or blocked pressure tubing
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power before removing the boiler front panel. Do not run the boiler with the case removed.
User checks:
- Visually inspect the flue terminal outside for obstructions (leaves, nests, snow).
- Check the condensate pipe for freezing in cold weather; thaw gently with warm (not boiling) water if frozen.
Engineer checks:
- Confirm the fan receives correct voltage from the PCB when there is a demand; if voltage is present but the fan does not run or is noisy, replace the fan assembly.
- Inspect and clear the condensate trap and internal condensate hoses on the EHC boiler.
- Check the air pressure switch tubing for splits, kinks or blockages; replace tubing if hardened or damaged.
- Test the air pressure switch for correct operation with a manometer or continuity tester; replace if it does not switch at the specified pressure.
- Inspect the flue system for correct installation, slope and integrity.
Do not bypass the air pressure switch; it is a critical safety device. Replace faulty components with EHC-approved parts.
