Possible Causes

Faulty DHW NTC sensor, Scale build-up around sensor pocket, Damaged sensor cable, PCB sensor circuit fault

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Isolate electrical supply before working on the boiler.

User checks:

  • Reset the boiler and run a hot water tap to see if the error reoccurs.

Engineer checks:

  • Locate the DHW NTC sensor on the plate heat exchanger or DHW outlet on the EHC combi boiler.
  • Measure resistance at ambient and under warm water flow; compare with EHC data.
  • Inspect for limescale build-up around the sensor pocket; descale if necessary.
  • Check wiring continuity back to the PCB and ensure connectors are firmly seated.
  • If sensor values are correct, suspect PCB input failure.

Fit a new DHW NTC sensor if readings are unstable or outside specification.
