Possible Causes

Blocked or incorrectly installed flue, Faulty flue temperature sensor, Faulty flue gas thermostat, PCB safety circuit fault

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Combustion and flue work must be carried out by a Gas Safe engineer. Do not operate the boiler if you suspect flue problems.

User checks:

  • Visually inspect the external flue terminal for obstructions.
  • Ensure no building work or extensions have altered the flue clearance requirements.

Engineer checks:

  • Inspect the entire flue system for correct assembly, slope, support and sealing according to EHC instructions.
  • Check the flue temperature sensor or thermostat for correct resistance and secure mounting.
  • Verify combustion with a flue gas analyser and adjust gas valve if necessary.
  • Replace faulty flue temperature sensor or thermostat with EHC-approved parts.

Never bypass flue safety devices. Resolve the underlying flue or combustion issue before resetting the boiler.
