Possible Causes
Open or shorted DHW NTC sensor, Loose sensor wiring, Sensor not in correct position on DHW pipe or cylinder
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before removing covers or touching internal wiring.
- Locate DHW sensor: On Elnur electric combi or cylinder-fed systems, the DHW NTC is usually clipped to the hot water outlet pipe or inserted into a cylinder pocket.
- Inspect wiring: Check the sensor cable for cuts, abrasions, or signs of overheating. Ensure the connector at the PCB is fully seated.
- Test sensor resistance: With the sensor disconnected, measure resistance and compare to the manufacturer's temperature/resistance chart. A reading of zero ohms or infinite resistance indicates a failed sensor.
- Check mounting: Ensure the sensor is firmly attached to the pipe with thermal paste or a clip, or fully inserted into its pocket for accurate readings.
- Replace if necessary: Fit a new Elnur DHW NTC sensor if the original is faulty. Route the cable away from hot surfaces and moving parts.
