Possible Causes
NTC sensor drift, Poor thermal contact between sensor and pipe, Incorrect sensor type fitted, PCB analogue input fault
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power before handling sensors or wiring.
- Compare displayed temperature: Check the boiler's displayed temperature against an external thermometer on the flow pipe. Large discrepancies suggest sensor or contact issues.
- Inspect sensor mounting: Ensure the NTC sensor is firmly clamped to the pipe or fully inserted into its pocket with thermal paste if specified.
- Check sensor type: If the sensor was replaced, verify that the correct Elnur part number and resistance curve have been used.
- Test resistance: Measure sensor resistance at a known temperature and compare with the manufacturer's chart. Replace if out of tolerance.
- PCB input check: If multiple sensors read incorrectly, the PCB's analogue input circuit may be faulty and require replacement.
