Possible Causes
Leaking pressure relief valve, Corroded fittings, Failed expansion tank, Overpressure condition
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Leaking water may be hot. Avoid direct contact. Turn off power to the boiler.
- 1. Identify leak source: Check the 30 psi pressure relief valve on the Energy Kinetics boiler. If water is dripping from the discharge pipe, note whether it is continuous or intermittent.
- 2. Check system pressure: Read the boiler pressure gauge. If pressure is above 25–30 psi, the expansion tank or fill valve may be faulty.
- 3. Inspect expansion tank: Tap the tank; if it is full of water (no air sound), the internal bladder may have failed.
Relief valve or expansion tank replacement should be done by a heating professional.
