Safety: Condensate is mildly acidic; avoid prolonged skin contact. Do not dismantle the flue yourself.

• Assess amount: Light dripping in cold weather can be normal. Heavy or continuous dripping may indicate an issue.
• Check condensate pipe: Ensure the condensate pipe from the boiler to the drain is not blocked or frozen.
• Engineer tasks:
  • Check flue angle to ensure it slopes correctly back to the boiler.
  • Inspect and clear the condensate trap.
  • Inspect flue seals and joints for leaks.

Persistent heavy dripping from the flue should be investigated to prevent staining and damage.
