Possible Causes
Loose gas connection on Hoval gas train, Cracked burner seal, Faulty gas valve not closing fully, Flue gas recirculation causing odour
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Danger: If you smell gas, do not operate electrical switches, do not use naked flames, and ventilate the area immediately.
- Shut off gas: Close the main gas isolation valve to the boiler.
- Ventilate: Open windows and doors to disperse gas.
- Evacuate if strong smell: Leave the building and call the gas emergency service and a Hoval-authorised technician from a safe location.
- Do not attempt to tighten gas fittings yourself. A licensed gas engineer must locate and repair the leak and perform a tightness test before the boiler is used again.
