Possible Causes
Sludge build-up in radiators, Partially blocked Ideal system filter, Pump running at low speed, Balancing issues with radiator valves
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Radiators can be hot; allow them to cool before removing bleed caps.
User checks:
- Bleed radiators: Release trapped air from cold-at-top radiators and re-pressurise the system.
- Open valves fully: Ensure all TRVs and lockshields are open, especially on cold radiators.
- Check system filter: Confirm isolation valves on any Ideal System Filter are open. Do not dismantle the filter yourself.
If problems persist, a heating engineer should balance the system, clean the filter, and consider a powerflush.
