Possible Causes

Shorted flame sensor lead, Moisture on burner or electrode, PCB flame detection fault, Incorrect earthing

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off the boiler at the fused spur. Do not attempt to access internal components.

User checks:

  • Check for leaks: Look for water dripping from the boiler or pipework above it. If present, turn off the boiler and water supply and call an engineer.
  • Reset once: After ensuring the area is dry and safe, turn the boiler back on and reset.

If L6 returns, a Gas Safe engineer must inspect the flame sensor wiring, check for moisture in the combustion chamber, and test/replace the PCB.
