Possible Causes
Incorrect flue fall, Blocked condensate trap or pipe, Flue joint leakage, High condensate production without proper drainage
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Warning: Flue gases are hazardous. Do not tamper with the flue. Condensate pipework can be checked externally.
- Check condensate outlet: Locate the plastic condensate pipe from the boiler to the drain. Ensure it is not blocked or frozen.
- Clear external blockage: If the external condensate pipe is frozen, thaw it gently with warm (not boiling) water and lag the pipe to prevent recurrence.
- Observe flue: Some water vapour and minor dripping can be normal in cold weather. Heavy staining or continuous dripping may indicate an issue.
- Engineer tasks: The engineer will check the condensate trap, internal pipework, and flue joints for leaks or incorrect installation.
