Possible Causes
Sticking diverter valve, Faulty diverter motor, Debris in diverter mechanism, PCB control fault
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Warning: Diverter valve access is internal. Only a qualified engineer should dismantle it.
- Confirm symptom: Turn on heating and wait. If radiators stay cold but briefly warm when a hot tap is opened, the diverter is likely stuck.
- Avoid forcing operation: Do not repeatedly open and close taps to 'force' heating; this stresses the boiler.
- Engineer tasks: The engineer will inspect the diverter valve assembly, clean or replace the valve cartridge, and test the diverter motor and PCB outputs.
