Possible Causes
Loose mounting brackets, Fan imbalance, Pump cavitation due to air, Poorly clipped pipework
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Warning: Do not remove the boiler case. Some vibration is normal, but excessive noise should be investigated.
- Check pipe clips: Inspect visible pipework near the boiler and secure any loose pipes with appropriate clips or brackets.
- Bleed radiators: Air in the system can cause pump cavitation and vibration. Bleed radiators and re-pressurise.
- Check for contact points: Ensure the boiler casing is not touching cupboards or walls in a way that amplifies vibration.
- Engineer actions: The engineer will check internal components (fan, pump, burner) for imbalance or looseness and tighten mounting bolts or replace worn parts.
