Possible Causes

Open circuit CH flow NTC sensor, Shorted CH flow NTC sensor, Damaged sensor wiring harness, Faulty main PCB NTC input

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Warning: This fault involves internal electrical components. Do not remove the boiler casing unless you are a qualified engineer. Isolate power before any inspection.

  • Reset the boiler: Turn the boiler off and on at the control panel. If code 10 reappears immediately, the sensor circuit is likely faulty.
  • Check system temperature: Ensure the boiler is not genuinely overheated (radiators extremely hot). If it is, turn off the boiler and allow it to cool, then call an engineer.
  • Visual inspection (external only): Check for any obvious damage to external wiring looms entering the boiler. Do not pull or strip cables.
  • Engineer tasks: A Gas Safe engineer will test the CH flow NTC sensor resistance, inspect the wiring harness, and if necessary replace the CH flow temperature sensor or main PCB.
