Possible Causes
Faulty ignition electrode or lead, No gas supply or low gas pressure, Faulty gas valve, Blocked burner or injector
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Danger: Ignition faults involve gas and high voltage ignition. Do not remove the boiler case or attempt internal repairs. Only a Gas Safe engineer may work on gas components.
- Check gas supply: Ensure the gas meter is on and that you have credit (if prepay). Test another gas appliance.
- Reset once: Reset the boiler and listen. You may hear the fan and clicking from the igniter. If it fails again and shows code 21, stop resetting.
- Check flue terminal: Ensure the external flue is not obstructed.
- Engineer tasks: The engineer will inspect and test the ignition electrode and lead, verify gas valve operation and inlet pressure, clean the burner, and check combustion.
