Intergas Frost Protection / Special Operating Mode

Boiler shows code 7, burner off, no demand, frost protection or anti-legionella cycle may be active

Possible Causes

Low ambient temperature triggering frost protection, Scheduled anti-legionella cycle on cylinder, Incorrect control configuration

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Information: Some Intergas boilers use code 7 for special modes such as frost protection. This is usually not a fault.

  • Check ambient temperature: If the boiler is in a cold area (loft, garage), frost protection may run the pump or burner briefly to prevent freezing.
  • Check programmer: Review any special programs (e.g. cylinder anti-legionella) that may be scheduled.
  • Insulate pipework: Ensure exposed pipework near the boiler is insulated to reduce frost risk.
  • Engineer configuration: If frost mode activates excessively, an engineer can review sensor placement and control settings.
