Possible Causes
Partially blocked plate heat exchanger, Faulty DHW NTC sensor, Inadequate flow rate through boiler, Faulty DHW flow sensor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Warning: Temperature swings can cause scalding. Be cautious when using taps or showers.
- Check flow rate: Fully open the hot tap. Very low flow can cause instability. If your tap has a flow restrictor, try another outlet.
- Avoid mixing at the tap initially: Test hot water with only the hot tap open to see if the boiler maintains a stable temperature.
- Clean inlet filters: If accessible, clean any strainers on the cold inlet to the boiler after isolating water.
- Engineer actions: The engineer will check the DHW NTC sensor, clean or replace the plate heat exchanger, and test the DHW flow sensor.
