Possible Causes
Faulty flow switch or turbine, Blocked DHW inlet filter, Wiring fault to flow sensor, Limescale restricting flow
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power and water supply before removing any DHW components. Risk of hot water discharge.
User checks:
- Check that cold water supply to the boiler is on and that other cold taps have good pressure.
- Observe if the boiler display shows a tap symbol when a hot tap is opened; if not, flow detection may be faulty.
Engineer checks:
- Inspect and clean the DHW inlet filter on the Keston boiler to remove debris.
- Test the DHW flow switch or turbine sensor for correct operation (mechanical movement and electrical output).
- Check wiring continuity from the flow sensor to the PCB.
- Descale the DHW side of the plate heat exchanger and inlet if limescale is suspected.
