Possible Causes
Leaking pump housing on Klimosz boiler, Corroded primary heat exchanger, Dripping pressure relief valve, Loose compression fittings
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power and close the isolation valves. Hot water can cause burns.
- Identify source: Remove the front panel and use a flashlight to trace the leak to its highest visible point. Check around the pump, heat exchanger, and fittings.
- Check PRV discharge: If water is coming from the pressure relief valve outlet pipe, check system pressure. Persistent discharge indicates a faulty PRV or expansion vessel.
- Tighten fittings: Gently tighten any accessible compression nuts that are weeping. Do not overtighten plastic components.
- Inspect pump and seals: Look for water around the pump shaft or housing. Replace pump seals or the complete pump if leaking.
- Heat exchanger leaks: If the primary heat exchanger is leaking, it usually requires replacement by a Klimosz technician due to combustion safety checks.
