Possible Causes
Open or shorted outlet thermistor, Loose thermistor connection, Damaged sensor from overheating
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn OFF power and allow the boiler to cool before touching piping.
- 1. Locate outlet thermistor: Remove the front cover and find the outlet thermistor on the hot water outlet pipe.
- 2. Check connection: Ensure the thermistor plug is fully seated on the control board and that the wires are not pinched or cut.
- 3. Visual inspection: Look for discoloration or cracking of the thermistor body, which may indicate heat damage.
- 4. Replacement: If wiring is good and error 32 remains, the outlet thermistor must be replaced. This involves draining the boiler and installing a Noritz OEM sensor; have a technician perform this to avoid leaks.
