Possible Causes
Defective return NTC sensor, Damaged sensor cable, Poor contact with return pipe or well, Control board sensor input failure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Isolate power before working inside the boiler cabinet.
- Locate return sensor: Find the NTC sensor on the return manifold or pipe entering the NTI boiler.
- Inspect wiring: Follow the sensor cable back to the control board. Look for cuts, abrasions, or pinched sections. Repair or replace damaged wiring.
- Test sensor: Disconnect and measure resistance at room temperature. Compare to NTI’s NTC chart. Replace if out of range.
- Secure sensor: Ensure the sensor is firmly attached to the pipe or fully inserted into its well with thermal paste if specified.
- Board diagnosis: If sensor and wiring are good, the main control board may need replacement by a qualified technician.
