Failed expansion tank, overfilled system, faulty pressure relief valve, overheating
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Hot water can cause burns. Allow system to cool before working on it.
Steps:
- Check pressure: Read the boiler gauge. If near or above 30 psi, shut off the boiler.
- Inspect expansion tank: Test and recharge or replace the diaphragm expansion tank as needed.
- Verify fill valve: Ensure the automatic fill valve is not overfeeding. Replace if it does not regulate properly.
- Replace relief valve: If pressure is normal but valve continues to drip, replace the Peerless-rated 30 psi relief valve.
