Possible Causes
Failed DHW tank sensor or aquastat, Loose DHW sensor wiring, Incorrect DHW priority wiring, Faulty control board DHW input
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power before working on DHW controls.
- Identify DHW sensor: On indirect tanks, locate the tank sensor or aquastat connected to the Pennco boiler.
- Check wiring: Ensure the DHW sensor or aquastat wires are firmly connected at both the tank and boiler control.
- Test sensor/aquastat: For sensors, measure resistance and compare to temperature chart. For aquastats, verify continuity when water temperature is below setpoint.
- Verify priority settings: Confirm DHW priority is configured correctly on the boiler control and any external zone panel.
- If E19 persists: The DHW sensor or the control board DHW circuit may need replacement.
