How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Isolate power before removing the boiler case. Do not run the boiler with the case removed.
User checks:
- Reset the boiler once and listen for the fan starting; if silent, note this for the engineer.
Engineer checks:
- Check for 230V supply to the fan when a demand is present.
- Inspect the fan for free rotation and absence of debris; spin by hand with power off.
- Test the fan speed feedback signal to the PCB (if applicable) and wiring continuity.
- Replace the fan assembly if it fails to start or provide correct feedback.
- If fan tests OK, suspect a PCB fan drive fault.
Fan replacement is a specialist task due to combustion safety implications.
