How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the fused spur before checking connections.
User checks:
- Check that the boiler is supplied from a dedicated fused spur, not a plug-in extension.
- Power off for 5 minutes, then back on to reset.
Engineer checks:
- Verify supply voltage, polarity, and earth at the boiler terminals.
- Inspect internal wiring looms and connectors for looseness or heat damage.
- Check for signs of water ingress onto the PCB.
- Replace the main PCB if all external causes are ruled out and E168 persists.
Persistent E168 errors usually indicate a PCB or supply quality issue.
