How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Condensate is mildly acidic; wear gloves and eye protection. Isolate power before opening the boiler.
Steps:
- Locate the condensate trap and drain line. Remove and clean the trap of sludge and debris; flush with clean water.
- Check the condensate pipe for blockages or freezing (in cold weather). Thaw and insulate as necessary.
- Inspect the trap for cracks and replace if damaged.
- Verify that the flue is correctly sloped towards the boiler or condensate drain as specified by Protherm.
