Possible Causes

Defective fan motor, Blocked or stiff fan impeller, Wiring fault between fan and PCB, Faulty PCB fan control circuit

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Isolate power and gas. Wait for the boiler to cool before accessing the fan compartment.

Checks:

  • Inspect the fan for signs of overheating, noise, or physical damage. Ensure the impeller spins freely by hand.
  • Check the fan connector and wiring harness for secure fit and damage.
  • Measure supply voltage to the fan during start‑up (technician only). If correct voltage is present but the fan does not run, replace the fan with a genuine Protherm unit.
  • If no or incorrect voltage is present, the PCB may be faulty and require replacement.

After repair: Verify correct fan operation and that F32 does not recur.
