Possible Causes
Failed inlet temperature sensor, Loose sensor harness, Sensor out of position in well, Control board sensor circuit failure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn OFF power and allow the boiler to cool.
Steps:
- 1. Locate inlet sensor: Identify the sensor on the return/inlet header or sensor well labeled inlet or return.
- 2. Inspect and reseat wiring: Check for secure connections and no visible damage. Reseat the connector.
- 3. Verify sensor insertion: Confirm the sensor is fully seated in the well and clamped if required.
- 4. Compare temperatures: Use the control display to read inlet temperature and compare to a pipe surface thermometer. A large mismatch indicates a faulty sensor.
Replace the inlet temperature sensor if faulty. If A22 persists with a new sensor, the control board should be tested by a Raypak-qualified technician.
