Possible Causes

Failed combustion blower motor, Blocked blower wheel, Faulty blower speed control or relay on control board, Loose blower wiring harness

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Turn OFF power and gas. Wait for moving parts to stop before touching the blower.

Steps:

  • 1. Listen for blower operation: On a call for heat, the blower should start before ignition. If it does not, shut power off and inspect.
  • 2. Inspect blower assembly: Remove the access panel and visually inspect the blower wheel for debris, broken fins, or obstructions. Clean as needed.
  • 3. Check wiring: Ensure the blower motor plug is fully seated and wires are not damaged or overheated.
  • 4. Spin test: With power off, gently spin the blower wheel by hand. It should rotate freely without grinding. If seized or very stiff, the motor is likely failed.

If A41 persists and the blower does not run or runs erratically, the blower motor or control board drive circuit will need to be tested and replaced by a qualified technician.
