Loose communication cable between user interface and PCB, Faulty display board, Faulty main control PCB, Electrical interference or power supply issues
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Isolate the boiler from the mains before accessing the control panel.
- Power cycle: Turn off the boiler at the fused spur for 30 seconds, then turn back on. If E12 persists, continue.
- Check display connections: Remove the front panel and carefully inspect the ribbon cable or plug between the display and main PCB for loose or damaged connectors.
- Check mains supply: Ensure the boiler has a stable 230V supply and that there are no obvious signs of water ingress into the control area.
- Engineer tasks: Test continuity of the communication cable, replace the display PCB or main PCB as required, and verify correct earthing and polarity.
