Possible Causes
Low system pressure, Faulty pressure sensor or pressure switch, Leak in heating system, Blocked or closed isolation valves
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Allow the boiler to cool before topping up pressure. Do not over-pressurise the system.
- Check pressure gauge: On most Remeha boilers, the cold pressure should be around 1.0–1.5 bar. If below 0.8 bar, the boiler may lock out.
- Top up via filling loop: Open the filling loop valves slowly until the pressure reaches the recommended level, then close both valves tightly. Refer to the user manual for your specific model.
- Check for leaks: Inspect visible pipework, radiators, and the boiler underside for drips or staining. Fixing leaks is essential to prevent recurring low pressure.
- Engineer tasks: Test the pressure sensor or switch, replace if faulty, and check the expansion vessel charge and system for hidden leaks.
