How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Isolate electrical power and gas before removing covers. Allow the boiler to cool.
- Check gas supply stability: If other gas appliances flicker or go out, contact your gas supplier to check for pressure issues.
- Inspect flame rod connection: Remove the front panel and locate the flame rod lead. Ensure the connector is firmly seated and free of corrosion. Do not bend the rod.
- Clean burner area: Using a soft brush and vacuum, gently remove dust from the burner surface and combustion chamber. Do not use water or solvents inside the combustion chamber.
- Verify grounding: Confirm that the boiler is properly grounded at the electrical supply and that the ground wire to the control board is secure.
- Reset and monitor: Restore power and gas, reset the boiler, and observe operation. If error 12 recurs, the flame rod or control board may need professional testing and replacement.
