Possible Causes
Failed DHW NTC sensor, loose sensor connection on DHW heat exchanger, damaged harness
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power and close domestic water isolation valves before removing any DHW sensors.
- Locate DHW sensor: On Ruud combi boilers, the DHW sensor is usually clipped to or inserted into the domestic plate heat exchanger.
- Inspect and reseat: Check the sensor body and wiring. Reseat the connector at the sensor and control board.
- Test sensor: Measure resistance and compare to the Ruud chart. Replace the sensor if readings are incorrect or if the code persists after wiring checks.
- Restore water and power: Open valves, restore power, and test DHW operation.
