Possible Causes
Disconnected or cracked pressure tubing, Faulty air pressure switch, Blocked vent or intake, Weak combustion blower
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power and gas before servicing the pressure switch or blower.
- Inspect tubing: Locate the air pressure switch on the Utica boiler and check the silicone tubes running to the blower housing or venturi. Ensure they are firmly attached and not cracked or filled with water.
- Clear tubing: If moisture is present, remove the tubing and gently blow it clear. Do not blow into the pressure switch ports.
- Check venting: Confirm that the exhaust and intake pipes are not blocked or restricted as described for E4/E11.
- Switch test (advanced): With power on and a call for heat, a qualified person can test continuity across the pressure switch terminals when the blower runs. If the switch does not close despite proper airflow, it may be defective.
- Replace if needed: Replace the air pressure switch with the exact Utica-specified part. Incorrect switch settings can be unsafe.
