Possible Causes
Defective fan speed sensor, fan motor failure, wiring fault to PCB, control board output error
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Isolate power before accessing the fan compartment.
- Listen for fan: On startup, if the fan does not run or runs erratically, note any grinding or scraping noises.
- Check connector: Inspect the multi-pin plug between fan and PCB for secure fit and no corrosion.
- Fan replacement: If the fan does not reach commanded speed, it must be replaced with the correct Viessmann fan assembly.
- PCB diagnostics: If a new fan behaves the same, the PCB may not be driving it correctly and should be tested/replaced by a technician.
