Possible Causes
Leaking pump housing or seals, Corroded primary heat exchanger, Dripping automatic air vent, Loose compression fittings on Vokera manifold
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Isolate electrical power immediately to avoid water contacting live parts. If leak is significant, close the boiler flow/return valves and cold water inlet.
- Locate source visually: Remove the front panel (if user-removable) and use a torch to identify where water is originating—pump, heat exchanger, valves, or pipe joints.
- Check pressure: Note the system pressure; a rapid drop indicates a substantial leak.
- Tighten accessible joints: If you can clearly see a weeping compression joint on external pipework, gently nip it up with a spanner—do not overtighten.
- Engineer tasks:
- Replace leaking pump seals or pump assembly.
- Replace corroded primary heat exchanger or manifold.
- Replace faulty automatic air vent.
Do not ignore small leaks; they can damage the PCB and other components over time.
