Possible Causes
Blown fuse in spur, Tripped MCB, Faulty main on/off switch on boiler, Faulty PCB or internal fuse
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Do not open the boiler casing unless you are competent and the power is isolated.
- Check power supply: Verify that the fused spur is switched on and the fuse (typically 3A) is intact. Check the consumer unit for tripped breakers.
- Check external controls: Ensure any external programmer has power and is calling for heat.
- Engineer tasks:
- Test for 230V at the boiler terminals.
- Check internal fuses on the PCB.
- Replace faulty main switch or PCB as required.
If fuses blow repeatedly, there is likely a short circuit that must be located by an engineer.
