How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Isolate power and allow the boiler to cool. Water may be hot and under pressure.
- Check system pressure: Ensure pressure is adequate (1.0–1.5 bar cold).
- Bleed pump (if fitted with bleed screw): Carefully loosen the pump vent screw with a cloth ready to catch any drips. Rotate the pump shaft with a screwdriver if accessible to free it.
- Engineer checks:
- Verify voltage supply to the pump from the PCB.
- Check and clean any system filters or strainers.
- Assess system for sludge and consider powerflushing.
Do not run the boiler with a seized pump; this can damage the heat exchanger.
