Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Switch off power and, if leak is significant, close the system isolation valves. Beware of hot water and surfaces.
- Identify leak source: Remove the front panel and use a torch to trace the leak. Look at pump unions, heat exchanger joints, air vents, and the safety valve outlet.
- Check safety valve: If water is coming from the safety valve discharge pipe, system pressure may be too high or the valve may be faulty. Verify pressure and expansion vessel function.
- Tighten unions: Gently tighten any weeping compression or union joints. Do not overtighten plastic components.
- Replace faulty components: If the pump gasket, air vent, or safety valve is leaking, replace with genuine Weishaupt or compatible parts.
When to call a professional: Heat exchanger leaks or persistent safety valve discharge require a heating engineer.
