Possible Causes
Seized burner fan or pump coupling, Overloaded burner motor, Incorrect motor protection setting, Faulty motor protection relay
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Isolate electrical power and lock out before working on the burner drive.
- Reset motor protection: Locate the motor protection switch or relay and reset it once. If it trips again, investigate mechanical load.
- Check fan and pump rotation: Manually rotate the burner fan and any attached oil pump (for oil burners). They should turn freely without grinding.
- Inspect couplings: Check flexible couplings between motor and pump/fan for damage or misalignment.
- Verify settings: Ensure the motor protection device is set to the correct current rating for the motor as per the Weishaupt data plate.
When to call a professional: Motor replacement, alignment, or pump repairs should be done by a service technician.
