Possible Causes

Seized circulation pump, Air lock in pump or boiler, Blocked system filter, Faulty pump relay on Weishaupt control

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off power and allow the system to cool before working on the pump.

  • Check pump operation: With power on and a heat demand, touch the pump body with a screwdriver to feel for vibration. If silent, it may not be running.
  • Free a stuck rotor: Many pumps have a central screw. With power off, remove the screw and gently turn the rotor with a screwdriver to free it. Replace the screw and test.
  • Bleed air: Use the pump vent or nearby air vents to release trapped air.
  • Inspect system filter: If a magnetic or Y-strainer filter is installed, isolate and clean it to restore flow.

When to call a professional: If the pump needs replacement or if the control is not energising the pump, contact a heating engineer.
