Possible Causes
Blown 3A fuse in fused spur, Tripped circuit breaker, Faulty boiler on/off switch, Loose live/neutral connection at terminal block
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Do not work on live wiring. If unsure, use a qualified electrician.
- Check other electrical items: Confirm that other appliances on the same circuit work.
- Check fused spur: Ensure the switch is on. If there is a neon indicator, see if it lights. If not, isolate the spur and replace the 3A fuse with a new one of the same rating.
- Check consumer unit: Look for any tripped MCB or RCD and reset if safe to do so.
- If boiler still dead: An engineer should check the internal 2A/3.15A PCB fuse, the main on/off switch, and wiring continuity.
