Possible Causes

Faulty tilt sensor, Loose tilt sensor connector, Miscalibrated orientation sensor on PCB, Damaged sensor housing due to impact

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect from mains before opening the housing.

  • Use on level surface: Ensure you are using the AEG carpet cleaner on a reasonably flat floor. Excessive tilting can legitimately trigger the safety sensor.
  • Power cycle: Turn the unit off, unplug for 1–2 minutes, then reconnect and restart on a flat surface to clear a temporary sensor error.
  • Locate the tilt sensor: Inside the main body, find the small tilt or mercury-free orientation sensor (often a small cylindrical or rectangular component on a small PCB). Check that it is firmly mounted and not loose.
  • Check wiring: Inspect the wiring harness and connector to the tilt sensor. Reseat the connector and ensure no pins are bent or corroded.
  • Visual inspection for impact damage: If the unit was dropped, look for cracked plastic around the sensor. Replace the tilt sensor module if physically damaged or if E7 persists after reseating.

Bypassing the tilt sensor is unsafe and not recommended; replace faulty components with original AEG parts.
