Possible Causes
Water in base tray leak sensor, Cracked internal hose, Loose solution line connection, Faulty leak detection sensor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug immediately if you suspect internal water leakage. Do not continue to operate the unit.
- Inspect external hoses and tanks: Check that the clean and dirty water tanks are not cracked and that all external hose connections are tight.
- Dry the base area: Remove the lower cover to access the base tray. If there is a leak sensor (often a pair of metal contacts or a small PCB), dry the area thoroughly with towels and allow it to air dry for several hours.
- Check internal hoses: Follow the solution and recovery hoses from the tanks to the pump and nozzle. Look for splits, loose clamps, or perished rubber. Replace any damaged hoses and secure with proper clamps.
- Inspect leak sensor: Clean any detergent residue from the leak sensor contacts. If the sensor is corroded or damaged, replace it.
- Test after drying: Once fully dry and reassembled, plug in and test. If E9 reappears quickly, there is likely an ongoing leak that must be located and repaired before further use.
Operating with an internal leak can cause electric shock or permanent damage to the AEG control electronics.
