Carpet cleaner will not turn on at all; no lights, no motor noise on any setting.

Safety: Always unplug the unit before opening any covers. Do not bypass safety devices.

• 1. Confirm power source: Test the outlet with another device. Avoid using power strips or extension cords during troubleshooting.
• 2. Inspect power cord: Flex the cord gently along its length while looking for cuts, kinks, or burn marks. If the cord feels loose at the handle or base, replace the power cord assembly.
• 3. Check power switch: On mechanical models, remove the handle or switch cover and test the on/off switch for continuity (if you have a multimeter). Replace if it does not close when switched on.
• 4. Thermal fuse / motor: If the unit died during use and never came back, the motor thermal fuse may have opened. This is usually integrated into the suction motor assembly and requires motor replacement.
• 5. Control board (digital): If the display is blank and the cord and switch are good, the main control board may have failed and should be replaced as a module.
